PROJECT MANAGEMENT

A project of any size has multiple working parts, all in play at the same time, all attached to a budget, and all racing towards a desired completion date.  So it’s critical to ensure that everything works in harmony, efficiently, and that the client is informed and reassured at every stage.

 

SJ Design has in-depth knowledge and experience of all the moving parts of a design and build project.  Understanding how the essential and specialist trades operate, when they need to be brought into the scope of works, what works best, how they charge, and importantly, how they work together.  Alignment is the key ingredient for a successful project: people, timings, budget and communication.  

 

The scope of work for Project Management is multi-faceted, but the principal duties include the following:

 

  • Architectural plans

  • Budget planning and managment

  • Building Regulations and Regulatory Building Inspections

  • Specification writing

  • Selection of main building contractor 

  • Selection of trades 

  • Sourcing of specific materials 

  • Regular site visits 

  • Client progress updates
